The Cumberland Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, a mainstream Protestant organization with over 22 million members worldwide, including more than 1 million in North America. We would be happy to have you join us in worship or at one of the church events listed on our calendar.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is profitable for correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness. (See 2 Timothy 3:16.)
We believe that Jesus is the eternal, self-existent God and is not a created being. Even though He is fully God, He took upon Himself the form of a man to live and die for our sins. We also believe that He rose from the dead three days later. We believe that the penalty for man’s sin was paid on the cross of Calvary in Jesus’ death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). By believing on Jesus Christ and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life. “Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:9).Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we want to obey Him as he commands in John 14:15.
We are not saved by our works. But, because we are saved, we choose to keep His commandments as the guide for successful living. We believe that prophecy reveals Jesus is coming again very soon. (See Matthew 24:32-51.)Click here for a detailed list of the 28 fundamental beliefs of the SDA Church

To carry on the work of Christ in the knowledge of His soon return. Matt. 28:18-20
Matthew 28: 18-2018 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
